Higher Education Providers

Study Design is a fully accredited DSA-QAG NMH Provider and supplies, qualified, experienced Specialist Study Skills Support across England to students in Higher Education.  We work with a broad range of universities and specialist colleges to provide a personalised and high-quality service to meet individual student and organisation needs.

At Study Design, we believe that all academic institutions should feel in control of the support that we provide to their students. We are happy to accept DSA referrals from institutions that are unable to provide DSA funded support to their students.

We are passionate about providing a tailored, high-quality support service to each student and education institution that we work with.

DSA Funded Support

Specialist Study Skills (ASC & SpLD)
Study skills support tutors work with students on a one-to-one basis to develop and implement strategies and solutions to enable students to maximise their academic success. This support can take place in the student’s accommodation, university, a mutually convenient and suitable venue or remotely.

Our students find our support invaluable as we are able to develop specific strategies and guidance to enable students to reach their potential and graduate successfully.

Support will include:
• Essay planning and writing skills
• Research techniques, referencing skills and critical thinking
• Time management and task prioritisation
• Exam and revision strategies
• Dissertation and research project management

Institution Funded Support

Not all students are eligible for DSA funded support. Therefore, it is common for institutions to continue to provide similar support, via an independently funded means. This ensures that an equal and sufficient level of support is accessible to all students.

Study Design actively engages with education institutions to ensure all their support requirements are met. We specifically address the needs of the student, as well as the financial viabilities of the institution.

We are happy to receive direct referrals from institutions and organizations for both Study Skills Support and Academic English Support.

Academic English Support

Academic English Support Tutors work with students on a one-to-one basis to developtheir English knowledge so that they can engage fully in academic study at English-speaking Higher Education institutions.  Tutors can also work with students on existing academic work, teaching them how to efficiently conduct academic research and then plan and write their assignments through the development of their knowledge of study skills.

Support will include:

• Development of Academic English and academic writing style

• Development of grammar and vocabulary across the four skills of reading, writing listening and speaking.

• Exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge, Linguaskills etc)

• Essay planning and writing skills

• Research techniques, referencing skills and critical thinking

• Exam and revision strategies
